What are the precautions for using everyday UV disinfectors?

Ultraviolet Disinfectant It mainly utilizes some specially designed components that feature high efficiency, high strength, and long service life. C A device that generates intense ultraviolet radiation through the action of band UV. C Light shines on flowing water, and when various bacteria, parasites, algae, and other pathogens in the water are exposed to a certain dose of ultraviolet radiation... C After light radiation, it causes changes in its cells. DNA The structure is damaged, enabling the elimination of bacteria and viruses in water—as well as pathogenic bacteria—without the use of chemical agents, thereby achieving disinfection and purification. So, when using a UV sterilizer, what key points should we pay attention to? Below, our editor will introduce them to you!
1 Everyone is prohibited from frequently turning on the UV sterilizer, especially within short intervals, in order to ensure the lifespan of the UV lamp tube. Domestically produced UV lamps comply with national industry standards, and their power output is strictly limited—maximum is... 4W and its effective lifespan is also relatively stable, typically being 1000-3000h Imported UV lamps are categorized into low-pressure lamps and medium-pressure lamps. Low-pressure lamps can have a lifespan of up to... 8000-12000h , medium-voltage lamps are also available. 5000-6000h the lifespan. Currently, a pressing issue is to extend the service life of UV lamps; otherwise, we’ll have to directly introduce advanced foreign technology.
2 Regular Cleaning: This requires periodically cleaning the lamp tubes and glass sleeves according to water quality. Be sure to use alcohol-soaked cotton balls or gauze to wipe the lamp tubes thoroughly, and also remove any dirt from the quartz glass sleeves. All of this is done to prevent impurities from affecting the UV transmittance and thereby compromising the effectiveness of UV disinfection.
3 When replacing the lamp tube, first turn off and unplug the power socket of the lamp. Then, carefully insert the clean lamp tube into the sterilizer, reattach the sealing ring, and finally check for any leaks. If no leaks are found, plug the device back into the power supply. Please note: Never touch the quartz glass of the new lamp tube with your fingers, as any fingerprints or smudges could impair its sterilization effectiveness.
4 Preventing UV Radiation Exposure: Since ultraviolet (UV) radiation not only severely damages bacteria but also poses certain risks to humans, it is crucial that we avoid direct exposure of the human body when activating UV disinfection lamps. When necessary, be sure to wear protective eyewear. Never look directly at the light source with your eyes—this could easily cause damage to the cornea.
5、 When installing the UV sterilizer, leave space at each end of the device. ≥ 1 Rice and 0.5 Space for the meter (for high-power models, sufficient space should be reserved) 1.6 Rice and 0.5 the space for the lamp, so that the lamp tube can be easily replaced; there should be a clearance of no less than... in front of the electrical control box. 0.5 The space is reserved for maintenance.
6、 The inlet and outlet ports of the UV sterilizer can each be chosen arbitrarily—one as the inlet and the other as the outlet—allowing customers to select based on their own convenience.
7、 During use, never exceed the rated working pressure or atmospheric pressure. ≤ 0.6MPa When opening the valve, do so slowly to avoid damaging the equipment components due to the impact of a sudden, powerful water flow.
8、 It is strictly prohibited to look directly at exposed ultraviolet light with the naked eye, as this can cause damage to both your eyes and skin.
9、 The UV disinfection unit is suitable for indoor installation; outdoor installation requires the addition of rain- and dust-proof facilities.
10、 The quartz sleeve and UV lamp bulb built into the ultraviolet disinfection unit are both fragile items. During transportation, installation, and use, they should be handled with care to avoid impacts and severe vibrations.
11、 The UV sterilizer should be installed horizontally; vertical installation is strictly prohibited. The cylinder must not be subjected to external pressure, and care should be taken not to touch the quartz sleeves at the inlet and outlet.
12、 The ultraviolet disinfection unit should be installed at the outlet of the water tank or pool. If the water flow rate and pressure are high, it should be installed in the low-pressure zone upstream of the pump inlet, or a pressure-reducing valve should be added.
13、 When installing a UV disinfection unit, a bypass pipeline and a shut-off valve should be provided for easy maintenance.
14、 Before starting the water supply operation and commissioning, any construction debris remaining inside the pipeline should be flushed out using a bypass method. Only after the water quality has been confirmed to be clean should the inlet and outlet valves of the UV disinfection unit be opened.
15、 After the ultraviolet disinfection unit is installed, first conduct a water-flow test to ensure there are no leaks before turning on the power. Wait until all the lamps are functioning properly. 3-5 After a few minutes (as indicated by the lamp indicator showing that the lamp is functioning normally), you may turn on the water supply. First, open the outlet valve, then open the inlet valve—after which the equipment will begin operating.
The domestically produced UV lamps comply with national industry standards, and their power output is limited—specifically, the maximum is...
Currently, the actual sewage conditions in China differ significantly from the parameters specified in the tender documents. This discrepancy arises because the parameters in the tender documents are based on foreign standards; however, a large volume of industrial wastewater can actually lead to an increase in the color intensity of the effluent. Such a situation could adversely affect the future standards that UV equipment will need to meet.
Poor-quality domestically produced ultraviolet light cannot fully exert its residual disinfection capacity. Some microorganisms that were not completely killed by the UV light become damaged after the treated water is separated from the reactor. DNA It can self-repair and revive bacteria under the photoreactivation mechanism. The principles and conditions underlying photoreactivation require in-depth study, with the ultimate goal of achieving photoreactivation using the lowest possible intensity, duration, or dose of ultraviolet radiation.
Cleaning the outer wall of the quartz sleeve is a critically important task that directly affects the operation and maintenance of the equipment. When wastewater passes through the UV sterilizer, microorganisms in the wastewater tend to remain inside the machine and form biofilms, which obstruct the transmission of UV light and reduce the sterilization efficiency. Under these circumstances, there is a need to develop and design a UV sterilizer that can perform automatic cleaning.
UV sterilization generally is... 24 Operating for hours on end, it is now an urgent priority to develop and manufacture UV sterilization lamps with long service lives. If the lamp’s service life is not long, Ultraviolet disinfection equipment Costs will increase, and usage will become inconvenient.
