During the prevention phase of the epidemic, in addition to using alcohol and disinfectants, ultraviolet (UV) sterilizers are also an excellent disinfection method. The effectiveness of UV disinfection is stronger than that of alcohol and disinfectants.

Although ultraviolet disinfection lamps are highly effective at disinfection, using them incorrectly is tantamount to wasting their potential. Only by mastering the correct methods and techniques can you achieve the desired disinfection effect.

1. Choose a disinfection lamp in the ultraviolet wavelength range.
When choosing a UV sterilizer, there are different wavelength bands available. It is recommended to select a sterilizer that operates in the deep ultraviolet band, as this band has a broader bactericidal spectrum and stronger disinfection efficacy.
Moreover, when using disinfectors that operate in the deep ultraviolet wavelength range, it’s crucial to pay close attention to the irradiation dose and duration. If the irradiation dose is insufficient or the duration too short, you won’t be able to achieve the intended sterilization effect.
2. Buying Tips for Ultraviolet Disinfectors
When purchasing a sterilizer, it’s important to master certain selection tips. Actually, rather than mastering selection techniques per se, it’s more accurate to say that you should learn specific usage tips—because once you’ve learned how to use it effectively, you’ll naturally know which model is most suitable for your needs.
If the ultraviolet disinfection lamp you’re purchasing is intended for outdoor use, you should opt for one with higher output intensity whenever possible. This is because outdoor UV radiation is relatively weaker, and a higher output intensity can help compensate for this limitation.
In addition, when using a UV disinfection lamp, it’s essential to ensure sufficient irradiation time. For indoor disinfection under normal conditions, the irradiation time should not be less than 10 minutes; for outdoor disinfection, it should not be less than half an hour. If there are particularly high levels of viruses and bacteria, the irradiation time will need to be extended accordingly.

When purchasing a UV disinfection lamp, try to choose well-known brands with guaranteed quality. Although these established brands may be slightly more expensive, their quality is reliable and won't let you down. It's not recommended to opt for smaller brands of disinfection equipment, as they often lack quality assurance and their after-sales service tends to be a cause for concern.
