Working Principle and Technical Features of Flue Gas Denitrification Technology Using Ozone Generators

Ozone, leveraging its strong oxidizing power, can convert insoluble, low-valence nitrogen oxides into soluble, high-valence nitrogen oxides, which are then absorbed and scrubbed by a washing solution. Ozone-based flue gas denitration does not require raising the flue gas temperature; it does not use reducing agents such as ammonia; it offers flexible control under conditions of unstable NOx concentrations and flue gas volumes; maintains a removal rate of over 90%; and simultaneously removes heavy metals.

Working principle
Under operating conditions where flue gas temperatures range from 100 to 200°C, ozone and a catalytic oxidation unit are used to oxidize low-valent, water-insoluble nitrogen oxides into high-valent, water-soluble nitrogen oxides. These oxidized nitrogen oxides are then absorbed by spraying a scrubbing liquid.

Technical Features
(1) Operates under flue gas temperatures ranging from 100 to 200°C without the need to raise the flue gas temperature, thereby saving energy.
(2) After ozone decomposes, it turns into oxygen, causing no secondary pollution and eliminating the need for reducing agents such as ammonia, thus avoiding any ammonia leakage issues.
(3) Under conditions where both NOx concentration and flue gas volume are unstable, maintain a removal rate of over 90%.
(4) It is unaffected by dust in flue gas and can be integrated with desulfurization for simultaneous scrubbing; meanwhile, it can also remove heavy metals such as mercury.
(5) Long service life: The equipment for the denitrification system is designed for a service life of 15 years, and the process does not require catalyst replacement.
