Ozone can easily break the carbon chains of olefin and alkyne compounds, partially oxidizing them to synthesize new compounds. Therefore, ozone is widely used in the synthesis of fragrance intermediates, pharmaceutical chemical intermediates, as well as in the modification of carbon black and coatings.

Ozone, as a non-polluting, environmentally friendly oxidizing agent, catalyst, and refining agent, finds extensive applications in industries such as fragrances and flavorings, carbon black production, and pharmaceutical manufacturing. Due to its strong oxidizing power, ozone readily breaks the carbon-carbon bonds in unsaturated organic compounds like alkenes and alkynes, partially oxidizing them and enabling them to combine into new compounds, such as aldehydes, ketones, and acids. Moreover, carbon fiber—a novel material—can have its quality enhanced after surface treatment with ozone.

Using ozone instead of traditional oxidants improves product quality, reduces costs, shortens reaction time, and minimizes environmental pollution.
