A PSA oxygen generator is an automated device that uses zeolite molecular sieves as the adsorbent. It operates on the principle of pressure swing adsorption—where one tower adsorbs argon from the air under high pressure, while the other tower desorbs it under reduced pressure—allowing for continuous and alternating operation between the two towers to separate oxygen from the air. Zeolite molecular sieves are spherical granules with a white color, processed through a special pore-structure modification technique, and characterized by an extensive network of micropores both on their surface and within their structure. Their unique pore characteristics enable them to achieve kinetic separation of C2 and N2. The separation of O2 and N2 by zeolite molecular sieves is based on the slight difference in the kinetic diameters of these two gases. Zeolite molecular sieves exhibit an increased adsorption capacity for N2 under higher pressure and a decreased adsorption capacity when the pressure is reduced. Moreover, the diffusion rates of water and CO2 in compressed air are comparable to those of hydrogen. Ultimately, the oxygen molecules are enriched in the adsorption tower. A Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) oxygen generator leverages the selective adsorption properties of zeolite molecular sieves: it employs a cyclic process of pressurized adsorption followed by depressurized desorption, allowing compressed air to alternately flow into the adsorption towers, thereby continuously producing high-purity oxygen.
Product Features
- High safety and long service life
- Low cost
- The oxygen concentration is relatively high, reaching over 90%. It’s easy to operate, can work continuously, maintains a stable oxygen concentration, and features adjustable flow rates—making it an ideal replacement for bottled oxygen.
- Depending on requirements, the PSA-series oxygen generators can be designed and assembled in an integrated configuration with the ozone generation unit, or they can be configured as a standalone oxygen generator that connects externally to the main ozone generator unit.
Typical applications
- Specifically designed for ozone-compatible equipment
- Pulp bleaching
- Aquaculture
- Metal smelting

PSA Series Oxygen Generator
A PSA oxygen generator is an automated device that uses zeolite molecular sieves as the adsorbent. It operates on the principle of pressure swing adsorption—where one tower adsorbs argon from air under high pressure and then releases it by reducing the pressure—while another tower performs the opposite function in a continuous, alternating cycle, thereby separating and producing oxygen.
